About DIVER STRESS & RESCUE

This program teaches the skills and concepts required to identify stress, prevent accidents, and properly deal with emergency situations encountered by divers.

Academic

Stress is a major cause of diving accidents and negatively impacts rescue situations. This program teaches you the skills and knowledge required to recognize and deal with stress, prevent accidents and properly deal with emergency situations encountered by divers. You will earn the SSI Diver Stress and Rescue Specialty certification after completing this program.

Required Equipment

  • You will want a Total Dive System that you are comfortable in.
  • You also want to have advanced equipment such as:
    • an SMB and fingerspool
    • a whistle
    • a save-a-dive kit, etc.

Prerequisites

  • Minimum age: 12 years old
  • Must be physically capable of completing rescue tasks
  • Must have current proof of First Aid/CPR training
  • Must be at least Open Water Diver certified

What do I need to get started?

  • Register online at DiveSSI.com and choose Lynnhaven Diver Center as your training center.
  • Call or come in to pay for your course, once payment is made we will unlock the online learning for you to complete before coming in for your classroom sessions.
  • Schedule the classroom session at the time, or call in with availability for us to schedule the classroom session
