This program provides the skills and concepts required to safely plan and conduct search and recovery dives.
Academic
This program provides the skills and concepts required to safely plan and conduct search and recovery dives. You will learn about search patterns, specialized dive plans, underwater communication, and how to recover small to medium-sized objects using specialized equipment like lift bags. You will earn the SSI Search and Recovery Specialty certification after completing this program.
Required Equipment
- You will want your own Total Dive System to increase comfort and confidence in your diving
- You will want your own SMB and lift bag with a finger spool
Prerequisites
- Must be Open Water certified
- Must be at least 12 years old

- 2 Open Water certification dives are required for this certification, they are not included in the course price
What do I need to get started?
Register online at DiveSSI.com and choose Lynnhaven Dive Center as your training center. Then come into the shop or call us to select and pay for your courses. Once payment is made we will unlock the specialty courses so the online learning can be completed. This is also when we can schedule when to come in for the classroom portion of your learning.
