Have a trip planned this winter and want to knock some rust off of your SCUBA skills?
Some resorts require you to show proof of a dive in the last year OR proof of a Refresher course, otherwise they charge you to take one there while your on vacation. While it is understandable to do so since SCUBA requires knowledge and confidence in your skills- it can take time away from enjoying your vacation and may cost more than your local dive shop. We here at LDC give you a completely personalized experience in our heated pool. By working with you one-on-one, we are able to give you our undivided attention and work with you until you are ready and confident to dive on your trip!
A Scuba Skills Update provides you with the opportunity to review and practice necessary scuba skills that you learned in your original Open Water Diver program under the guidance of an SSI Dive Professional. The Scuba Skills Update is often a required for continuing your diving training after a long period of time away from the sport.
Why take a SCUBA Skills Update Class?
- Gain knowledge and confidence putting your SCUBA system together with ease
- Work on your buoyancy in the water and feel comfortable again
- Build confidence and familiarity with your skills (ex. mask clearing and removal, regulator retrieval, etc.)
- Get one-on-one attention from an Instructor and get any questions you may have answered
- Required for some dive resorts/vacation spots
What is included in the price of the class?
- Price for the class is $100
- 1-3 hours with an Instructor in the pool/classroom ($25 per additional hour if needed)
- Online learning for Scuba Skills Update
- Use of our rental gear (you may use your own if it’s been serviced within 2 years)
- Scuba Skills Update digital recognition card as well as an update sticker for your card/logbook
What you need to bring:
- Must have a certification card (physical or digital) by any agency
- Logbook
- Swimsuit
- Towel
- Personal snorkel gear
- Completed Medical Form
- A smile and positive attitude!
